Two-Gun Western Novels Magazine (undated issue, circa 1949)

This issue features five works of Western fiction. The lead novel, "When a Texas Town Goes Gun-Crazy" by George M. Conklin, centers on young Hallock's aspiration to ride with notorious gunmen including Wild Bill Hickok, only to find himself fleeing the law after his first killing. "Empty Saddles Mean War!" by Morse Chandler depicts Kid McCord seeking acceptance among cattle rustlers in a Hole-in-the-wall hideout. James P. Olsen's "The Kid from Damnation Valley" follows Satan King and seven wanted men in gunfights. Two short stories complete the issue: W. H. B. Kent's "No Manbreakers Wanted!" involves two hardened badmen with bounties on their heads and lawman John Stark; and Ralph Berard's "Borrowed Bullets" concerns a notch-hunter pursuing a criminal on the Jack R range. The magazine also contains period advertisements for correspondence courses, dentures, athlete's foot treatment, and mystical instruction books.
