This is not a pulp magazine issue but rather a United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations report (Project "Sign") documenting multiple eyewitness accounts of an unusual aerial phenomenon observed across Utah on April 5, 1949, around 1000 hours MST. The report compiles incident reports from locations including Corinne, Brigham City, Ogden, Salt Lake City, Logan, and surrounding areas. Observers—farmers, airport personnel, police officers, university faculty, and company employees—reported seeing explosions, puffs of smoke or vapor, a ball of fire with trailing smoke, and brilliant bluish-white light at various altitudes (15,000–41,000 feet). Several accounts describe the object descending rapidly, producing sonic effects, and disappearing in an orange flash. The phenomenon was reported traveling at high speed, roughly northeast to northwest. Investigators collected detailed witness statements and physical observations from credible sources before classifying and forwarding findings to higher command.
