This document is an Air Force Intelligence report dated July 10, 1952, investigating a UFO sighting near Phoenix, Arizona on July 2. A civilian woman observed an unidentified flying object at approximately 0420 hours for 3–4 minutes from her residential location. The object was described as a "ball of fire" resembling a "flattened out grapefruit" with a diameter appearing 7–8 inches to the naked eye, colored like yellow candlelight, with a flame trail extending 6–8 feet astern. The witness, who is nearsighted and lives near air bases, watched it traverse a 90-degree arc across the sky at an estimated distance of 7–10 miles before disappearing when obstructed by a house. The report notes clear weather conditions, absence of military or commercial air traffic, and a nearby Cessna 170/Navion operating at 1500 feet with standard navigational lights. The investigation found no meteorological phenomena or ground evidence. Significance remains undetermined.
