A single unidentified object with the appearance of a bright star was observed on a 270-degree bearing, moving horizontally then vertically approximately 5 degrees. The observer went inside briefly; upon returning 15 minutes later, the object had descended 20-25 degrees and disappeared at 301540Z. The investigator's comments conclude the object was likely the star Sirius (magnitude -1.6), with misidentification aided by atmospheric refraction and observer imagination.
