This issue contains eleven short stories, three serials, and one novel. Featured authors include Gilbert Parker ("The Youngest of the McMahons"), Kennett Harris ("A Hairbreadth 'Scape for Euphemia"), and Ellis Parker Butler ("T. Jebberson"). Additional stories include Robert J. Casey's "The Pay Streak," William Almon Wolff's "A Sour Infield" (a baseball tale of civil war in the infield), and Charles Wesley Sanders' "The Girl Who Was Afraid," set in the Black Hills. Stories by Hapsburg Liebe, Philip Gibbs, John E. Rosser, Clarence Herbert New, and Elliott Flower round out the fiction. Three serials continue: Henry C. Rowland's "Jane" (featuring maritime trouble), Louis Tracy's mystery "Number 17," and John Fleming Wilson's "The Temporary Heir" (South Seas adventure). Roy Norton's complete novel "The Unknown Mr. Kent" is included. Future issues will feature Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan" stories and Harold MacGrath's "Madam Who."
