# Catalog Note
This Beadle and Company dime novel anthology, No. 207 (dated July 24), contains two frontier adventure stories. "The Buffalo Trapper" by Charles E. Lasalle follows Jabez Spikes, a money-minded Yankee, pursuing a legendary white buffalo across the Great Desert in hope of profit. "Buckskin Bill; or, The White Demon of the Woods" by Guy Greenwood (No. 206) follows a free trapper and guide confronting Blackfoot warriors on the plains and in river country. When Clinton Aubrey, leading an expedition, faces an Indian ambush, Buckskin Bill intervenes with his rifle and revolvers, and together they break through the attackers and retreat into the foothills. Pursuing Blackfeet trap them in a canyon pass; a chief approaches under a flag of truce to negotiate. Both stories feature armed combat, narrow escapes, and skilled horsemen in Western settings.
