# THE DOG TRAILER: APACHE JACK'S DESERT TRAIL

When Hart provides dubious directions to the Skeleton Buttes, an unseen voice accuses him of lying. The narrative emphasizes the harsh desert setting, character relationships, and gathering conflict as the party prepares to resume their journey through hostile Apache country.
