The Tigress of Texas by Col. Prentiss Ingraham is a western romance serial following Buck Taylor, the "Lasso King," and his Cowboy Clan. After Taylor defeats the desperado Tiger Tom in a duel fought with lariats, a mysterious man exhumes Tom's body from its grave beside a former Spanish mission. Six months later, Buck Taylor discovers Tiger Tom alive, commanding a gang hidden in the Cavern of Canyons. Taylor launches a surprise attack with his mounted cowboys against the trapped men. The narrative weaves together frontier action, a widowed woman's grief over her outlaw husband, and intense clan warfare. A companion story to the "Lasso King," the serial features military and civilian characters against a lawless Texas border setting, emphasizing gunplay, horseback combat, and frontier honor codes.
