Selección Terror: ¡Comida!

· 1975

"¡Comida!" by Clark Carrados is a science fiction horror story set in the American Southwest. The narrative follows two parallel threads: a mysterious figure named Janos driving a specially-designed van containing a shapeless, tentacled creature that feeds on human flesh, and Clem Lane, a professional who receives an urgent letter from his former lover Edwina Coogan requesting help. When a highway patrol officer stops the van for speeding, the creature attacks and kills him, consuming the officer while leaving only his metal equipment scattered across miles of road—a mystery that baffles authorities. Meanwhile, Lane arrives in the small town of Long Creek to find a mob burning what they believe is a monster on Edwina's property. The next morning, Lane learns Edwina has allegedly killed and consumed Jim Foreman. The story combines science fiction elements with mystery and dark horror as Lane seeks answers about the creature and Edwina's fate.
