# "Terror en Escarlata" by Ada Coretti

This Spanish-language horror serial follows journalist Cornel Adder, who boards a coach headed to the coastal town of Barren-Rotts. He encounters the attractive redhead Bárbara, who warns him that the town is plagued by mysterious eye-mutilations linked to a legend: a mad nobleman named Wettersson supposedly threw a treasure chest of gold coins into the sea years ago. Recently discovered maps pinpoint its location in carnivorous plants at a clifftop. Three eyeless passengers aboard the coach—hollow sockets where eyes should be—have fallen victim to this curse.

Cornel witnesses a horrific murder through the coach window: a masked assailant systematically destroys a terrified man's eyes with a dagger. When the coach stops, no body or blood evidence remains.

At a roadside inn, Cornel meets the gentle blonde Verónica, whose aunt Ágata lives in Barren-Rotts and inexplicably refuses her entry. Cornel resolves to help. The next morning, he accompanies Verónica to confront her aunt, discovering her suspicious behavior and strange demeanor.
