# "El Archipiélago del Horror" by Ralph Barby
This Spanish-language pulp horror serial follows Claude Arnoux, a middle-aged Parisian businessman, who travels to Greece with his young secretary Gwendoline. After Arnoux attempts to seduce the resistant nineteen-year-old in her hotel room, she strikes him unconscious with a crystal ashtray and flees. Arnoux pursues her in a motorboat across a moonlit sea, becoming obsessed with catching her as she sails toward a rocky archipelago. His boat wrecks on jagged rocks. Soaked and bleeding, Arnoux scrambles ashore to find not Gwendoline but a gathering of identically-dressed young women who dance mockingly around him. As he watches, their faces grotesquely age and contort into hideous, evil visages. The story combines elements of obsessive pursuit, supernatural horror, and psychological deterioration set against an atmospheric Greek island setting.
