Selección Terror: Horror en los Estudios Filmstar

This Spanish-language pulp horror magazine, issue 314 in Editorial Bruguera's "Selección Terror" series, contains Curtis Garland's "Horror en los Estudios Filmstar" (Horror at the Filmstar Studios). The protagonist Blake Hartman, a struggling screenwriter in Los Angeles, receives a telegram from the declining Filmstar Productions accepting his screenplay. After celebrating with an evening of drinking and seduction by a woman named Sandy, Hartman arrives disheveled at the studio offices. He meets Samantha Harris, the script supervisor, who facilitates his contract negotiation with producer Aldo Griffith and director Von Kraff. Harris explains this will be Filmstar's final film before the real-estate company Ajax develops the land. Hartman accepts a forty-thousand-dollar offer—twenty-five thousand upon signing, fifteen thousand upon completion—and signs the contract, beginning what promises to be his breakthrough opportunity in horror cinema.
