Instructed to ensure Helen safely reaches Webbertton via a scheduled coach, Duffy takes the assignment. He boards the coach and discovers Helen traveling with her cousin Ángela and Ángela's fiancé Dennis to visit their wealthy aunt Úrsula, who has summoned all her nieces and nephews. Helen appears frightened throughout the journey. At a roadside hotel overnight, Duffy learns Helen works as a shop assistant and is being relentlessly pursued by a wealthy man named Robin Clemmens, who claims to love her despite her repeated refusals.
