La danza de los esqueletos

Β· 1983

"La Danza de los Esqueletos" by Ada Coretti is a horror novella published by Editorial Bruguera (issue 534, May 1983). The story opens in the Moon Flood bar in the small town of Bannonwell, where prostitutes solicit clients. The protagonist Vanessa, a young prostitute, leaves with a customer but instead encounters a moving skeleton on a deserted road. The skeleton, carrying a paralytic spray device, incapacitates her and then douses her with a flammable mixture of gasoline, sulfur, and phosphorus before igniting her with a dragon-headed lighter, immolating her alive. The narrative shifts to introduce Loretta, who has inherited a chalet overlooking Bannonwell from her aunt, observing the modest landscape and nearby house of the refined Miss Lillian. The story appears positioned as a supernatural revenge or serial-killer narrative in the pulp horror tradition.
