# "Gigantes del espacio" by Vic Logan (1969)

This Spanish-language science fiction novel depicts a space expedition centuries after Earth's destruction. Professor Arcano leads a four-person crew—his assistant Binda, inspector Tarbes, and young reporter Zeno—aboard the spherical spacecraft "Correo Espacial" (Space Mail) launched from the Radio Station, a human settlement suspended in space by mysterious magnetic forces. The expedition's dual mission is to establish contact with extraterrestrial life detected by electromagnetic sensors and to locate a safer habitat, as the Radio Station gradually drifts toward an unknown cosmic body. During their journey, the crew detects signals from an inhabited planet. Through telepathic perception—a developed human capability—they navigate toward it, with sensitive Binda providing guidance when instruments prove insufficient. As they approach the planet's penetration zone, the crew prepares weapons and defenses for first contact.
