This Spanish science fiction serial depicts a 260-year interplanetary war beginning in 2001 when Earth discovers extraterrestrial observation and subsequent attacks from the Olfiseans, beings from Próxima Centauri. The Olfiseans are bipedal, hairless humanoids with rat-like features, mimetic white skin that adapts to environment, and reproduce oviparously—each producing up to forty offspring maturing in six years. They live 170-220 years and number five hundred billion, threatening humanity's survival.

Earth's military response establishes the W.H.C. (War High Council), mobilizing all humans from age four. Young officer Luis de Sada, assigned to the Special Center for Human Reproduction in the Sub-Antarctic depths, proposes "Hominización"—rapidly breeding enhanced humans to match enemy numbers. At this underground facility, he meets Colonel Abraham Laird and the colonel's daughter, Lieutenant Judith Laird, beginning what appears to be a romantic subplot amid military crisis.
