This issue contains science fiction novelets and short stories by established and emerging authors. Wallace West's "Haunted Centennial" follows Fredda Reynolds navigating corporate politics at Trans-Planetary Spaceways Inc., seeking public approval to save her company while burdened by her grandfather's disreputable legacy. David Gordon's "A Bird in the Hand" (cover illustration) depicts suspect Ronan Hull, bound by tracers but never informed of his alleged crime and therefore never arrested.

Short fiction includes Michael Zuroy's "Wheels," where competitor Alph Agar faces a dilemma: enter a Fly-Wheels exhibition and risk losing his life if defeated, or refuse and face execution; Margaret St. Clair's "Squee"; Isaac Asimov's "Silly Asses," explaining a planetary deletion; and Carol Emshwiller's "Idol's Eye," featuring an unwanted woman.
