This issue of The Magazine of Horror contains six complete stories and serials. "Dread Exile" by Paul Ernst presents a mysterious case: a man's dog goes mad and attempts to attack him; simultaneously, an emaciated corpse appears in a morgue, physically identical to the madman who visits the narrator six hours after the body's discovery. "The Grisly Horror" by Robert E. Howard and "The Vespers Service" by William R. Bauer round out the horror selections. Additional fiction includes "From the Dark Halls of Hell," a demonic novelet by G. G. Pendarves; "Once on Aranea," a bizarre story by R. A. Lafferty; "Murgunstrumm" by Hugh B. Cave, presented as the first half of a complete thriller; and "The Testament of Athammaus" by Clark Ashton Smith. Other contributions include "The Artist of Tao" by Arthur Styron, "Tales from Cornwall" by David H. Keller, "The Executioner" by Rachel Cosgrove Payes, and "The Settlement of Dryden vs. Shard" by W. O. Inglis.
