# NEW WORLDS — July 1952 (Volume 6, Number 16)

This British science fiction magazine issue features a three-part serial "The ESP Worlds" by J.T. M'Intosh, the primary content. The story concerns the conflict between a human Earth colony and the telepathic Noyan aliens on the planet Noya. Major Jeff Croner commands the Universal Order Force's outpost but finds his troops repeatedly outmaneuvered in combat against the Noyans, who possess extrasensory perception and can materialize and dematerialize at will. The Noyans, a matriarchal society comprised entirely of women, easily repel human assaults on their hill strongholds. Croner recognizes that only female Earth operatives with telepathic abilities could effectively negotiate with Noya's female-dominated culture, but Headquarters refuses his request, leaving him to improvise by recruiting civilian women from the arriving supply ship Scylla.
