# Catalog Description
"El secreto del Circo Espacial" by W. Sampas (1960) is a science fiction spy thriller centered on the arrival of an exotic space circus on Earth. Young SIP (Spatial International Police) agent Lam Curtis receives his first assignment from chief Donald Callowan: to infiltrate the Circus Espacial, posing as a laborer named John Caster. The circus, recently established on Mars, plans to relocate to New York and features eight alien creatures collected from throughout the solar system—including a pyrogenic humanoid from Mercury, a giant suction organism from Venus, and creatures from the outer planets. Curtis travels to New York, where he is hired through a placement office and encounters Sonia Kleber, the circus director's imperious daughter, who assigns him to feed the animals and clean her caravan. The narrative captures Curtis's frustration with her aristocratic disdain and the mounting tension as the space circus arrives and construction of its aluminum dome begins at Luna Park.
