This Spanish-language pulp magazine (Colección TAM-TAM no. 35, February 1983) contains "Jugandose la Piel" ("Playing with Fire"), attributed to Lucky Marty, an adventure narrative centered on newspaper reporters. The story follows Lou Graham, a San Francisco Star journalist, and photographer Cherman Strom as their editor Lasty Mansfield assigns them to cover a dramatic whale hunt in the Aleutian Islands. A hundred-ton, thirty-meter whale, harpooned by Russian and Japanese whaling vessels in the Bering Strait, fights for survival—ramming the Russian ship, killing two crew members and wounding twelve others before becoming cornered between two islets. The narrative intersperses detailed exposition on whale physiology and diving capacities with newsroom banter involving romantic entanglements and workplace dynamics. Lou initially resists the assignment, claiming he's engaged to be married, but complications arise when his editor assigns female photographer Rossie Carwey to accompany the expedition instead.
