This issue features a diverse collection of mystery fiction edited by Leslie Charteris. The lead story, "The Latin Touch" by Charteris, finds the Saint in Rome, where he assists an American tourist girl who is being overcharged by a carriage driver. After exposing the driver's hidden taxi-meter, the Saint is mysteriously knocked unconscious and imprisoned in what appears to be a modern cell—a far cry from the ancient Colosseum where he was moments before. Additional stories include Erle Stanley Gardner's "The Danger Zone," Phyllis Bentley's "The Man on the Back Seat," Avram Davidson's "The Sensitive," Lawrence G. Blochman's "The Dead Men Laughed," and contributions from Hal Ellson, Edward D. Hoch, Joseph Commings, and others. The issue also includes a regular Saint column by Charteris and William F. Nolan.
