Everybody knew that Norah was not his chHd, but few knew that her true name was Norah Narcross, for she was everywhere known as Norah Mowbray, a name which had been given her by common consent. When Robert Bentham went to the continent for the purpose of completing his education, he left Norah a beautiful girl of sixteen, one of the belles of Wil- mington, and a lass with the purest of hearts.
