Her head was lowered just a little, and the rich color in her cheeks erew a trifle fainter. She was thinking to herself if this new, strange feeling which was stirring her bosom with a strength she could not overcome had only come to her earlierin life, before she had become so hardened and skeptical, what a different woman she might have been!
