IN THE SUNK LANDS. Ad our watches and small change, I felt keenly the loss of the package of money. “ We can’t do anything more to-night,” said Bob, decidedly. ‘‘ I move that we goa little farther down and camp out.”’ This motion was carried unanimously. Loafer was led to an open space and un- hitched. The trunks were unpacked of what articles we needed, such as blankets, coats, guns, and frying-pan, and then placed in a circle to form a shelter in case of an attack. A fire was built, Loafer fed, and Joe and | were cleaning the squirrels when Bob said suddenly : ‘‘T wonder if there is any danger of our friend paying us a visit while we are asleep ? ”’ ‘<1 cuess not, if he was hit as hard as his yell indicated,” replied Joe. ‘‘T propose that we take a look at the place where he was hit.
