Lorp C. (hurrying up) It is impossible that The c. door is dashed open, and Bitu and Nick hastily enter. Music. BILL. (c.) My lord—my lord, the cottage is surrounded—— BMARy. (R.) Ah, villam—what think you now ? Lorop C, (u.) Search as they may, they shall not find you Mary Price; there are secure hiding places here—raise yonder trap. (Music.—BiLu and Nick look, and percewing ring, raise small trap, R. C., when ToMMyY pops his head up, pre- senting brace of prsiols) Tom. Lie down, Bulldog! (LorD CLAVERING and MEN are fixed to the spot—MARyY ~ ginks on one knee, with hands upraised—tableau) You didn’t expect to see such a jack-in-the-box, did you—not likely, not likely! = BiLL. How the devil did you get there ? Tom. Through a rat-hole! The cellar had got a little window, and Tommy can creep in anywhere. Lorp C. (u.) Kall him! kill him! Tom. (Music.—The two MEN sewze Tommy, and drag him up trap—LORD CLAVERING makes over to R., and seizes Mary, who screams—at this moment a loud crash with- out—all start—TomMy breaks away, and running up throws open the c. door, when LIEUTENANT AUBREY and ROBERT rushon— LIEUTENANT AUBREY sezzes NICK,R.C.; ROBERT, BILL, L.; and ToMMyY, strutting across, presents ECORMICLOOKS.
