At length the Senator marches down in the direc- tion of the engine. Five minutes later he turns up, his face wreathed in smiles. ‘Turn out!’ he says. ‘“Wherefore?’?’ demands Bob. ‘“The walking is good to Fayette.” ‘Yes, but the distance ?’’ ‘One mile.”? , ‘‘Ah! then we’re with you, my friend, if there’s. any likelihood of a long stay here.’? ‘Gypsy, what do you say ?”? ‘I can walk with the best.
