A peculiar dry cough reached his ears. He knew it well. It told him that there was fun ahead, for sly Ben Bolt was in the vicinity. CHAPTER X. A WONDERFUL TRANSFORMATION. Whatever was done must be accomplished in an exctedingly small space of time, for Ben was very close at hand. @uick as thought the detective partly closed the door, leaving it ajar and nothing more.
