Dan saw Duke Harbison leave the Whis- key Wagon, get his horse that he’d left a hundred yards from the camp, and ride away. And in spite of his hatred for the handsome Duke, that old feeling of admira- tion for the hard-riding, fast-shooting Mis- sourian, crept again into his heart. Duke was the lone wolf of the Harbisons, and the most deadly in a fight. Hell, Dan couldn’t shoot a man like Duke from am- bush.
