Robert Sidney Bowen's "Dead Man's Patrol" follows pilot Bugs Haggard, who discovers unexpected consequences in the sky. "Rifles in the Dawn" by Hal White examines two men resembling twins but differing fundamentally in courage, their true nature revealed only in aerial battle. William Hartley's "Coffins for Aces" (featured story beginning on page 7) depicts pilot Jerry Raynor, shot down on his first mission over the lines after engaging a skilled German Fokker pilot in a dogfight; captured and transported to a German prison camp. Additional stories include "Soldier of Hell" by J. Jay Blair, "Dynamite on Wings" by Darrell Jordan, and "Death Has a Price" by O.B. Myers.
