This issue features "Invaders From Outside" by J. Schlossel, a science-fiction novella depicting a rogue planet hurtling toward the Twelve Confederate Worlds—twelve inhabited planets spanning from Mars through Saturn's moons in a peaceful confederation of vast antiquity. The civilization's astronomers, despite their powerful telescopes, failed to detect the dark intruding world approaching at enormous velocity. The narrative includes exposition on the history of interplanetary travel, beginning with Martian explorers' first expedition to Earth's Moon, where thirteen of twenty pioneers perished during the journey.
