Published by L'Association in 2008, this edition of *Placid* presents a charmingly sketched dog — rendered in soft, pencil-like strokes against a grid-paper background — wearing a studded collar and gazing outward with an expressive, slightly wide-eyed look. The understated cream cover and bold red title lettering give the whole package a handcrafted, intimate feel that's very much in keeping with L'Association's tradition of thoughtful, artist-driven publishing. A lovely piece from the French independent comics scene.
