666 #3
Published by Splitter in 1996, this third chapter of *666* carries the subtitle "Demonio fortissimo" — and Franck Tacito's cover makes the title feel entirely earned. A defiant, whip-wielding woman in dark armor dominates the foreground, chains binding a grotesque horde of demons at her feet, while stone angels flank the scene against a sky burning with hellfire and the silhouette of a grand domed cathedral. Writers François Froideval and Resel Rebiersch are clearly steering this series into bold, infernal territory, and Tacito's detailed, visceral linework gives every snarling creature and crumbling column a satisfying sense of weight and menace.
