Above Snakes #2

Sean Lewis and Hayden Sherman's Above Snakes continues with this brooding second issue from Image Comics, its cover depicting a weathered figure in a wide-brimmed hat pulling the brim low over their face with a large, rough hand — an image that radiates quiet menace and hard-earned wariness. Sherman's loosely expressive linework and murky green-and-amber palette give the portrait a gritty, sun-scorched atmosphere perfectly suited to a Western series. With lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, this 2022 Image title is shaping up to be one of the more atmospheric Westerns on the stands.
