Absolute DC: The New Frontier #[nn]
The entire Justice League bursts into action across this Darwyn Cooke cover, with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batman, and the Flash charging in the foreground while Superman soars overhead alongside the Martian Manhunter and what appears to be a diminutive Green Arrow — a dynamic ensemble rendered in Cooke's clean, mid-century ligne claire style. This 2007 Absolute edition of *DC: The New Frontier* presents "Chapter One: Analog Heroes" in a deluxe oversized format, with Cooke handling both the writing and full art duties alongside colorist Dave Stewart and letterer Jared K. Fletcher. If you've ever wanted to experience this love letter to DC's Silver Age heroes in the most handsome presentation possible, this is a seriously compelling package.

In 1957, Red Ryan can't shake the crash landing he and three other men survived and later meets with the three to discuss their shared luck. Meanwhile, in New York City, Task Force X takes on a pterodactyl and loses one of their own, while in Tennessee, an African-American man who survives a lynching forges a new identity. Later, in the Pacific, Task Force X and the Challengers of the Unknown make a trip to Dinosaur Island. At the same time, Hal Jordan gets involved with a Task Force X project in California and learns about that crew. Back in Tennessee, John Henry makes his first appearance.
