Aeka #2

From Kamiti's 2021 fantasy series, *Aeka* #2 — subtitled "Dernier printemps" — opens with a striking cover by Fabrizio Cosentino: the titular warrior stands front and center, katana raised and steady, her rose-tattooed torso and red armored gauntlets framed against a swirling crimson mist, while a serpentine dragon looms in the background. The deep reds and watercolor washes give the whole image a brooding, almost painterly atmosphere that sets writers Fuat Erkol and Christian Simon's world apart from the usual fantasy fare. If the mood of this cover is any indication, "the last spring" of the title promises something both beautiful and dangerous.
