Agrum Comix #3

The third installment of David Vandermeulen's cheeky *Agrum Comix* series arrives with a title that practically winks at you — *Tu avances ou tubercules* ("You move forward or you're a tuber") — and a cover that delivers on the absurdist promise: a scowling, elongated orange character squares off nose-to-nose against a grumpy little green fruit, both rendered in that loose, energetic cartoon style that defines the series. The deep blue background, peppered with ghost-sketched fruit doodles, gives the whole thing a wonderfully irreverent feel, right down to the arrow pointing at the title with the cheeky question "C'est toi qui as trouvé ce titre?" ("Was it you who came up with this title?"). Published in 1999 by Le 9ème Monde, this is feel-good Franco-Belgian comics humor at its most playful.
