Keena, le fils adoptif d'Aigle Noir, l'entend parler à un brave dont le fils avait rejoint un groupe de renégats pour voler de l'or en échange de fusils. Aigle Noir a laissé le fils du brave au fort pour payer ses crimes. Keena pense qu'Aigle Noir n'aurait pas dû quitter le jeune et décide de retourner chez les Lotas, sa tribu d'origine. Là, Keena découvre que les marchands d'armes blanches ont installé un camp pour attendre le retour du conseil afin de déterminer si la tribu échangera son or contre des armes.
