Airboy Comics #12 [107]
In "The Mind of the Earth," a young glass blower's desperate bid for recognition takes a dark turn when he kills his mentor, an act observed by the mysterious Heap. Days later, during the Festival of Glass, his attempt to craft a royal likeness instead reveals a chilling, lifelike figure of the late master—Anton Rhenish—leading to the arrest of the true culprit, Ullrich. Ernest Schroeder handles both the interior art and cover, bringing the eerie, handcrafted world of 1953’s Airboy Comics to life with meticulous detail.

A master glass blower's assistant slays his employer while seeking the fame that has eluded him as a fellow artist, an event watched by the Heap. A few days later, the killer is featured before the King during the Festival of Glass to create a glass likeness of his majesty. Instead, as the glass cools, the figure of Anton Rhenish appears, which the King takes as incrimination for the death of the master glass blower at the hands of Ullrich, who is promptly arrested.
