“The Wind of Battle”

In "The Wind of Battle," Airboy Comics #12 (1947), a desperate film producer's quest for a monstrous star leads him to the Heap—just as the creature threatens a high-wire artist, setting off a tense chase. Written by Bill Woolfolk and illustrated by Art Peddy, with inks by Bernard Sachs and colors by Woolfolk, this early adventure blends pulp action with the eerie presence of a mysterious beast. The cover by Fred Kida captures the drama in bold, striking lines.
