“The Flying Dragon Ships”

In "The Flying Dragon Ships," a sudden cave-in traps patrons inside a gambling casino built above a fault line, with the greedy proprietor refusing to let anyone leave until he’s safe. With the building collapsing and lives at stake, it’s up to the Heap to intervene—though the true danger may lie not just in the crumbling structure, but in the secrets buried beneath. Ernest Schroeder handles both the interior art and the cover, bringing this 1953 thriller to life with bold, dynamic visuals.

Kindly Anton sends his daughter to the proprietor of a gambling casino to warn him that the cave below his casino has a major fault line through its strata, and is in imminent danger of collapse. But before the warning can be given the collapse occurs and the casino sinks into the cave's interior. Unfortunately, the evil proprietor refuses to allow patrons to exit, demanding that he be the first to exit. Fate intervenes and it's up to the Heap to save the patrons.
