Airport #1
The first volume of this French-language comedy series sets the tone perfectly — on the cover, a massive passenger jet tilts at an alarming angle on the tarmac while a harried airline captain strides urgently past a string of bewildered airport staff, a young woman in uniform perched improbably atop the aircraft above them all. Subtitled *Vol au-dessus d'un nid de gaffeurs* ("Flight Over a Nest of Bunglers"), this 2011 Zéphyr Éditions release promises sharp comic timing and a workplace full of lovable incompetents. If you enjoy humor rooted in professional chaos — think airport bureaucracy pushed to its most cartoonish extreme — this series opener looks like a very entertaining boarding call.
