Al Williamson: Hidden Lands #[nn]
In "The Lost Lives of Laura Hastings," a 2004 Dark Horse gem, an Earth expedition returns to a long-abandoned world they once seeded, only to find that evolution took a startling detour—rendering humanity unfit for the planet they hoped to claim. With Al Williamson’s legendary artistry on full display, both in the story and on the cover, this tale unfolds with quiet dread as the crew prepares to erase the planet’s current life and begin anew—unaware of the ancient, sentient tree quietly watching.
