“Alias Part 5”

In "Alias Part 5," Jessica Jones goes from being hunted to hunting, turning the tide against Man Mountain Marko and uncovering a web of political deceit tied to a corrupt figure known as R. Zoumas. As the stakes rise on a golf course, Jessica confronts Zoumas, learning he was paid to manipulate events involving a sensitive tape—and that the fallout could shake the nation. With Zoumas taken into custody and his political ally out of the race, Jessica finds unexpected closure when Steve Rogers himself arrives to thank her. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated with sharp, moody precision by Michael Gaydos, with colors by Matt Hollingsworth and letters by Richard Starkings and Comicraft’s Wes Abbott, the issue’s cover by David Mack captures the tension of a story where truth is the most dangerous weapon.

Jessica Jones turns the tables on Man Mountain Marko and beats him until he tells her it was R. Zoumas who hired him. On a golf course, Jess confronts Zoumas, a corrupt mover-and-shaker. He tells her President Bush reneged on promises that Zoumas paid for and she was supposed to expose the Captain America tape to make Bush look bad, since the Captain was an associate of his. Zoumas and all his bodyguards are picked up by S.H.I.E.L.D. and flown away. Zoumas's candidate Steven Keaton drops out of the race. Jessica is visited by Steve Rogers, who thanks her.
