Alix #1
Jacques Martin's *La Tour de Babel* presents a striking cover image that sets the tone beautifully: two imposing figures — a Roman-armored warrior and a robed, scepter-bearing Eastern dignitary — flank a miniature cityscape on a pedestal, its central temple engulfed in vivid flame and smoke. The composition, spare and almost sculptural against a clean white background, suggests a clash of worlds and civilizations waiting to unfold. Published by Casterman in 1985, this Alix album is a fine example of the series' blend of archaeological detail and dramatic storytelling.
