Thierry Démarez's cover art captures ancient Egypt with a palpable sense of danger and atmosphere, all burning ochres and churning river water. Valérie Mangin and Démarez continue their long-running collaboration here, and if this 2021 entry is any indication, *Alix Senator* remains one of Franco-Belgian comics' most visually arresting historical adventure series.
