All-New X-Men #9

Part of the 2016 "X-Men: Apocalypse Wars" crossover, this issue puts the All-New X-Men right in the middle of a storm — and Mark Bagley and Andrew Hennessy's cover makes the stakes viscerally clear. Dominating the image is a massive, anguished blue-skinned face with glowing red eyes and a molten maw, while the team — including a claws-extended X-23, a flame-wrapped Cyclops, a fiery Nova-suited figure, Colossus, and a white-costumed flier — are scattered around it in various states of struggle. Dennis Hopeless's story has plenty to live up to with a cover this intense.
