An Asterix Adventure #[11]
Goscinny and Uderzo's Asterix looks decidedly contemplative on this bright yellow cover, chin in hand as he kneels before a detailed engraving of towering Roman apartment blocks wreathed in oak leaves — a striking contrast between the plucky Gaul and the grand imperial architecture looming behind him. The image sets up a wonderfully comic tension: one small, winged-helmeted warrior sizing up Rome's ambitious building programme. Published by Brockhampton Press in 1973, this hardcover edition is a handsome way to enjoy one of the series' most architecturally minded adventures.
