Angel Sanctuary #1
Kaori Yuki's *Angel Sanctuary* arrives in English with this first volume, its cover immediately drawing you into a world where the celestial and the earthly collide. Two auburn-haired figures — a young man in black gripping what appears to be a slender rod or wand, and a young woman in purple pressed close behind him — stand framed by sweeping white wings and a pale golden moon, their expressions carrying a weight that hints at something far larger than ordinary teenage life. It's a beautifully composed shōjo image that balances tenderness and tension in equal measure, and a very promising opening to one of the more ambitious supernatural manga series of its era.
