Animal Adventures #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis issue features two stories: "Carrot Caper" starring Soopermutt, in which the anthropomorphic rabbit knight Ironclad battles the Black Knight to protect his castle, ultimately defeating him with fireworks; and "The Zany Zoo," a prose story about John Reilly, who works at the city zoo and claims to understand animals, helping resolve various animal complaints including beavers needing clay for their dams and a squirrel named Sojo who forgets where he hides his nuts. A backup comic strip follows two rabbits who discover a rainbow and chase it hoping to find the pot of gold at its end, only to realize they need to hurry back for lunch before their owner discovers them missing.
When Soopermutt is roused from a nap by his friend Tiny, he's pulled into a mystery involving Buster Bulldog's missing carrots—five bushes that have vanished without a trace. Setting a trap for the phantom thief, Soopermutt discovers the culprit isn't who anyone expected, leading to a satisfying capture and a surprising confession about what really happened to Buster's crop.
Li'l Joe might be the smallest guy in the gang, but he's convinced he can lick anybody in town—until a chance to prove his toughness lands him under a package too heavy to budge. When a larger rival offers to help, Joe's quick thinking turns the tables in this 1954 romp from Animal Adventures.
King Karrot faces financial ruin and cuts off all the fun—no comic books, candy, or movies—but his two young nephews hatch a plan to save the day by chasing a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. When their search leads them far from home and into the care of an old witch, King Karrot sets out to find them, only to discover what really matters isn't the treasure, but being together.
